Obadele

THE TRUTH

Obadele Kambon is a 28 year old PhD student and young community leader who teaches Afrikan languages and Capoeira (an Afrikan martial art) to Black children and adult students of all ages at 6 Chicago area schools, community colleges and universities as well as online.
Obadele and fiancée were both illegally harassed, detained, searched without probable cause during a “routine traffic stop” on the streets of Chicago in June 2007.

In the eighth hearing that we have attended, Obadele prevailed yesterday in the pretrail motion to supress evidence obtained in an illegal police search of his car back on June 25th. Even though all four cops lied under oath, our two attorneys, Andre Grant and Lewis Meyers, Jr combined to give a world class and sterling closing argument- it also helped immeasurably that we had a surprise eye witness that refuted the lies of the police. Above all, we had the Spirit of our Ancestors and your beautiful thoughts and energy- All of these factors combined to enable us ALL to prevail.

Thank you for your spiritual, financial, and emotional support.

WE FOUGHT AND WE WON!!!

Because of these concocted charges, Obadele has had to postpone his wedding, incur costly charges of legal fees, vehicle impoundment, bond and more totaling more than $10,000. In the 1960’s the police used the underhanded tactic of draining individuals and organizations that were doing the work of our people through various means; physically through false incarceration, monetarily through trumped up charges, emotionally through harassment and terrorism and more. Their tactics have not changed. Have we changed our response?
