Default MACPRI Image Revolution

The multi-dimensional business concept of MACPRI or Mother Africa's Children (PRI) First was developed by documentary photo-historian Adisa S. Oji aka Mwalimu Oji "The Teacher," in October 1987.

MACPRI's founding business, Mother Africa's Children Photographic Reproductions International has opened up the world to great possibilities for global African partnerships in education, artistic, spiritual, intellectual and economic development through its focus on the African Image Revolution.

The love for documenting the daily lives of African world people has turned this young man into a very curious modern nomad who shares his time living in North America, The Caribbean and Africa in an effort to accomplish his life mission. Oji intends to extend his documentation of the Peoples Of Africa throughout the Caribbean, Europe, to South America, China and India in the future.

This African Image Revolution, which summarizes the mission of MACPRI, has become an Africa worldwide movement. The African Image Revolution seeks to stimulate, through the use of positive visual propaganda, "radical change, revolutionary change, in the way we see and organize ourselves as a people and the way we are seen by others." Through the eyes and images of Oji Adisa, MACPRI frames the African world from a perspective rarely seen in mainstream media and never seen in the vision of World Vision. MACPRI's work is simple, but profound - to document the daily life of African people from around the world: the joy, the laughter, the sadness, the failure, the hope, the victories and of course with the hope of capturing the inner beauty of us all to be shared with us all. The Peoples Of West Africa documentary photography project is Oji's most enduring endeavor. While only a small selection of images can be viewed on the MACPRI website, these images give a general idea of Oji's photographic perspective. Oji has been photographing in West Africa since 1991 and exhibiting his works around the world.
MACPRI documentary photography projects are privately funded. MACPRI African Marketplace, the All African Dance Party and the Peoples Of West Africa photo exhibits are all very significant annual MACPRI fundraisers supported by the Toronto community. In an effort to extend his teaching and to develop permanent educational and business links among the young intellectuals, artist/artisans and business people Oji meets in his travels he has developed a number of local and international initiatives, namely: MACPRI African Imports (Canada), Mwalimu ATI Family Culture Renewal Center (Jamaica) and Sankofa Kingdom Tours (Ghana).
