Very interesting blogsite that presents an opportunity to see and study Asante/Akan culture, specifically Asante/Akan royalty. Check out each month to get pics with captions.

Note: In the blog dated March 9, 2008 titled, "A Show of Insolence and the Provocation of Asanteman by Dormaahene and Dormahemaa", the blog author has a typo under the pic showing the Dormaahene and Dormahema with their legs crossed. It should read, "In Akan culture, it is regarded as a sign of disrespect, when one crosses his/her legs in the prescence of his superior". It means, on a practical level, that one is "not ready". In other words, if one's legs are crossed and she or he must move for a call to action, she or he might trip and/or just lose time having to uncross the legs.
