      You Can’t Take Africa Out of the African! is an African-themed gala banquet in support of the upcoming Black To Our Roots tour to Ghana and Ethiopia this July 2011. The gala banquet will be held at the Fredrick Douglass – Isaac Meyers Maritime Center, which is beautifully tucked away in Fells Point along the Harbor. The night will be an elegant, cultural celebration o...f the positive aspirations of the youth of the Black To Our Roots program, who have been diligently preparing themselves for a life-changing journey of self-discovery to Africa this summer. So come out in your best African attire and enjoy an inspiring night of music, food, conversation, and style with the youth of the Black To Our Roots program and our family, friends, and supporters.

      The gala will feature:

      - Musical Performances from Tolumide (Nigerian Artist) and Amadou Kouyate (Griot)
      - Vegan African Diasporan Cuisine
      - African Fashion Show
      - Youth Film & Youth Presentation
      - Keynote speaker

      Indeed my brother. Ras Tre is doing some good things with the Afrikan youth in Baltimore. It has been an eye opening experience for many of them; opening their eyes to the fact that they need to get out of this wasteland and get to the right side of the ocean. I'm not that far from Baltimore, but I will already have returned home to Mama Afrika by the time this event happens
