Today's Ifa/Oriṣa Affirmation - Idupẹ (Grace)
Ifa ni ka ṣe ọpẹ
Mo ni ka ṣe ọpẹ, ka ṣe ọpẹ, ka ṣe ọpẹ
Ifa ni ki ọmọ eku o wa ṣ'ọpẹ
Ọmọ eku ti o ni oun ko ni ọpẹ da
Iyan ni ọmọ araye fi ọmọ eku jẹ
Ifa, mo wa dupẹ temi
Ti a ba ṣe eni ni oore, ọpẹ ni a nda
Mo wa dupẹ temi
English
Ifa says to be grateful
I say we should be grateful, we should be appreciative, we should
always show gratitude
Ifa's recommendation to rat (representing lesser animals) was for it
to show gratitude
When rat refused to show gratitude [because rat was ungrateful]
Rat was eaten with iyan by the people [rat ended up being a delicacy
in human diet]
The chant continues.
Ifa, I hereby register my gratitude
When one is done a favor, one should show gratitude
I hereby give my thanks.
At the end of each day, and as Awos, we should take a moment to look
back on the day's activities. We should put a checkmark on the day's
successes, check off the day's accomplishments, high-light tasks that
need further attention, and examine tasks that seem to have lacked
results. After that, we should thank Odumare for having granted us
the fortitude with which we navigated the day. Then, we should
request Odumare to grant us the wisdom with which to confront the
coming day and days. According to the above Ifa, failure to recognize
and acknowledge each passing day, as being a blessed day, can invoke
its own imbalance. While we consciously, or unconsciously, look
forward to the next day or coming days, may our sleeps be spiritually
guided to, and from, the terrain that our subconscious minds take us
when asleep. May we wake up each day with vigor in the pursuit of our
individually chosen spiritually paths, ASE.
