No one needs to tell you that drug addiction is ruining our families and communities. And with a 70% relapse rate among our people who attend government funded treatment programs it's time that we step outside of the box of western society and return to the ways of our Ancestors before the Maafa.

Iboga is a sacred plant of Gabon that is used by those who practice Bwiti spirituality. During a Bwiti initiation the root bark of iboga is ingested causing the initiate to intimately communicate with his or her Ancestors, confront all of his or her faults and shortcomings, and receive guidance as to what to do to get his or her life on track. Iboga is used clinically in Europe, Mexico and Canada to help cure drug addiction. It is administered just once to a patient and 85% of the time the patient stops using drugs without any withdrawal symptoms. JUst imagine what it can do if used spiritually as it should.

Iboga is illegal in this country. In fact, it is classified as a schedule I drug so the penalities for its possession are among the harshest there are. Despite this, there are those of us who have learned the spiritual use of iboga and offer its healing powers through underground sessions to the people. Iboga can be used for drug addiction, alcoholism, spiritual enlightenment, and a wide array of other challenges.

Yurugu is taking advantage of the healing powers of this most sacred plant. They have their own underground providers in this country and run all the treatment centers throughout the world. As African people we need to start using what is rightfully ours---the resources of the Motherland. AFRIKA FOR AFRIKANS!!! So learn about this plant brothers and sisters and then educate the rest of our people about it.

This is interesting information as I have never before heard of the Iboga plant before (does it have any other names and what language is the word Iboga from).

The western scientific name for the plant is Tabernanthe Iboga. The origin of the word "iboga" or "eboga" is with the Twa or Fang people. Iboga was legal here until 1970 when a white junkie cured himself of his addiction with it and became an advocate for its use with drug addiction.
