My mother, my aunt, and my uncle were members of the A.A.P.R.P. (All African People's Revolutionary Party). Growing up, I attended and participated in many activities including lectures by Kwame Toure and a female member of the IRA from Ireland, demonstrations at the U.S./Mexico border, and African Liberation Day. It was a regular part of my life well into my late teens.
This particular chapter was based in Los Angeles. Before I reached 18, the large family of A.A.P.R.P. Members that I had come to know disbanded and all communication and connections ended. I never knew exactly what happened, but I have heard my mother say that she believes that chapter was infiltrated. Nevertheless, the A.A.P.R.P. Had an enormous impact on my life and ultimately opened my eyes to being active in the struggle and taught me how to equip myself for it and what to expect and most of all, love of my Afrikan self and for my Afrikan people.
Is anyone familiar with the All African People's Revolutionary Party and the ideology of Kwame Nkrumah? Has anyone read Nkrumah's Revolutionary Warfare? I would appreciate any opinions or comments or resources on this topic. Thank you.
