Uhuru Bro Khepra,
This is a good topic of discussion. Right now many of us are in a current state of survival. I believe that right now we have to be like the symbolic story of Noah for lack of understanding of parables in an Afrikan context. There are many even in the Afrikan tradition that when this topic comes out they use such statements as leave it up to Jesus, Leave it to Allah and now many leave it to the Shrines? This to a certain degree relieves persons of the responsibility of thinking. Being religious i.e. Spiritual does not relieve us of the responsiblity of preparing for our life and family. Many through mental defeat for things they can not explain in the world they just say leave it to Jesus. I may have simplified this and most people will not admit that they are like this in their interpretation of spiritual systems unseen though many have even suggested what happened in Katrina was Divine will. Europeans do all manner of evil againsts us and we say that God did it the creator did it or it is Divine will. Some would say Bro we do not have to prepare "As long as we have Jesus" we need nothing else. Afrikan Spiritual traditions can not simplify our systems to imbalances in realities. Many have a pie in the sky mentality that cause people to not prepare though give thousands of dollars to these "Churches" for the Minister/Pastor/Priest to retire. |

I couldn't agree more about the like of responsibility/accountability that you speak about.
How would you personally deal with a situation like that if it were a family member or another loved one?? In how you would personally deal with the situation, would you then suggest that to the community and/or an organization that you belonged to or were affiliated with???
