Meda ase for the earthday wish!!
Happy Earthday!
?errthang,
So true. So true.
NyameNti,
I can appreciate feeling the need to follow your spirit and encourage nationbuilding with the best tools possible. That said, sometimes it is easier to 'build' where you are familiar (the devil you know) rather than branching out. I felt homesick when I was away from Detroit (which folks said/still say) is crazy, but when I drive thru the city....i feel at home. I would not recommend a change of venue to a place unfamiliar, and definitely not prepared. Wherever you are/go, remember that you need a strong support system in place to be successful (spirit, life, work, home, nationbuilding, kwk.)
Morning ?errthang,
As of late I have really been brainstorming/contemplating about the act of nationbuilding. That being said, I feel somewhat 'tied' at the ankle in North Carolina..it is weird, I feel 'homesick', but St. Louis is my birthplace, but not where my spirit is leading me too. However, I feel lead to be somewhere esle (not that i would do something sporadic)-choices definitely have to be based on intelligence and wisdom. I will take your advice and do more research on this entire "process of thinking"
Greetings NyameNti,
Let me start off with some questions. Where do you live now? Are you planning on moving to the Detroit area? If so, why (job, family)? Because although I just moved back a few years ago, I was born and raised here and always felt it was home. Are you looking for investment properties? Most of the big cities hit by the housing bubble burst have really low prices, however, that doesn't make them good choices. If you are looking for income properties, I wouldn't invest without living here. If you want to live here, there are other areas in Detroit that may be better suited to your needs. Every place has problems...you just need to be prepared for what you're getting into.
Greetings ?errthang,
Sorry, I guess that was a broad question regarding Highland Park. I understand, yes there is no escape. However, I see that the property
value there is a 'steal' compared to the area I am in now. I have heard stories that the city lights were cut off because of non-payment. Anyway,
I just wanted an insider's view on the housing market/area. But I understand if this in not a 2 line answer peace and blessings sister.
Greetings NyameNti,
What exactly are you trying to find out? Are you looking to move to a heavily Black populated area in or near the city of Detroit? Economic, social, political, kwk. woes are everywhere, so there's no way to escape those...
Greetings ?errthang,
I have recently been looking at areas that are black populated..like Highland Park, MI...I see you are in the
area..any input on what is going on? I 'hear' all the economic woes, but I feel confident that your say will have
more validity. -NyameNti ( I originate from the Midwest-Missouri)
