The economic philosophy of black nationalism only means that our people need to be re-educated into the importance of controlling the economy of the community in which we live, which means that we won't have to constantly be involved in picketing and boycotting other people in other communities in order to get jobs. This quote from Nana Omowale is so simple but it really changed my life when I began to seriously live by it. It's a challenge when everything around you is produced or sold by non-Afrikans, and they have created an oppressive situation where their way is easier and more convient and most of our people are participating in that oppression.

For me, this quote challenges me to at least take the thing that is my thing, my niche and do that using Afrikan resources only.

So if you're a ritual specialist or divine healer, dont buy incense or candles or florida water, or chickens or goats, kwk from non-Afrikans.

If you're a vegan/raw foodist, dont get your produce or veggie burgers or herbs, or spirulina, kwk from non-Afrikans.

If you're a warrior, see a contradiction in that Afrikans dont poduce weapons and make it a point to position yourself to do so.

Since Afrikans dont produce most of the things that we need for life, let alone liberation, it seems that Malcolm was challenging us to get to work...of course keeping in mind that it may be impractical to build certain things in a non-Afrikan country...
