![]() Mbott and Njamala Mbott the Toad and Njamala the Giraffe used to argue every single day. One day in particular Njamala reached the river bank and heard Mbott the Toad singing as loud as he could, “Ngoox! Ngoox! Ngoox!” “Nasty little animal!” cried Njamala. “Everyone is resting, and you’re bothering them with your croaking!” Surprising by what he had just heard, Mbott looked at the giraffe with scorn and said, “Njamala, you can treat me like a little animal, but remember that God made me that way. Look at you, with your long legs like Caakaaba’s? With your gangly neck holding up your little, empty head. You don’t know anything.” Furious, Njamala stretched his long neck to grab and bite his enemy. But Mbott dove into the water, laughing and singing, “Ngoox! Ngoox! Ngoox!” Ever since, when the giraffe came to drink at the river, he checked the water to find the toad and settle their account. "Xaste warul jaam". God’s creatures shouldn't quarrel. http://www.cresp.sn/
