Who is Ogechi Nut Amunet Amadi
Primarily, I am on a personal journey of growth along with nurturing and cultivating mind, body, and spirit. I have been working with children for over 17 years as a mother and a family daycare provider. In 2005, I earned my AA in Early Childhood Education from Montgomery College, Rockville, MD.
I am also a Certified Doula, Childbirth Educator, Reiki Master/Teacher, and Ra Sekhi (Kemetic Reiki) Therapist.
Course Title: Holistic Child Development

Course Description: Holistic Child Development focuses on teaching parents how to tap into their inner ability to nurture their child(ren) on a whole level of mind, body, and spirit. The class focuses on how to combine conventional and holistic methods and focus on the big picture of your child development by understanding the milestones that get them there. By the end of the course, parents will understand how to lay the foundation that will encourage self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect. This courage will help parents to be able to gain the confidence needed to raise a culturally and spiritually aware child in society that does not give support.

1. Parents will understand how they can begin nurturing their child in the womb.
2. Parents will be able to understand what it means to nurture mind, body, and spirit.
3. Parents will understand how nutrition plays a part in your child’s ability to focus.
4. Parents will become equipped with information about vaccination to make informed choices and feel empowered to discuss options with their child’s physician.
5. Parents will understand early childhood development and what they can do to help children reach milestones.
6. Parents will be able to understand the different childcare programs in order to make positive choices and understand their rights as parents in the daycare system.
7. Parents will become comfortable with being able to assert their child’s cultural identity in mainstream educational systems. Parents will be comfortable in researching, seeking, and implementing alternative educational programs
Instructional Methods
Methods: This workshop will be taught online. It is 50% lecture and 50% open discussion.
