Scientist have found that despite the vast experience of enslavement and ongoing brutal oppression that by all objective measures persists to date, few blacks in the united snakes are tempting to escape. Dr. Nana Kwaku Opare, MD, MPH has suggested the term reverse drapetomania to describe the condition. This serious mental disorder reverse drapetomania - the pathological state of mind where a slave has no desire to escape his predicament. In many cases the slave or chronically oppressed Kmtyw has no conscious awareness that they are in fact enslaved. This condition was famously described by the heroine Harriet Tubman who was quoted " I have led many to freedom but could have saved many more if they had known the were enslaved. The condition is similar to the Stockholm syndrome most famously affecting the kidnaped heiress Patty Hearst is the state in which a kidnap victim comes to love his/her captors and joins with them having no desire to escape.

Dr. Opare thank you for your piece. I understand what your message is conveying. I wonder if there is another definition or term that could replace drapetomania as a legitimate term or definition seeing that it was conceived from a sick mind to begin with to explain our want to be free? I mean to say that if we say "reverse" does that legitimize drapetomania as a valid term we should respect? Respectfully asked. Meda ase.
