Our New Year in Aakhuamuman Amaruka Atifi Mu, Akwamu Nation in North America, is always on the first full day of the Atem/Atemet (Autumn) equinox. September 22nd is therefore our New Year's day and will thus be the first day of our year 13017, three months prior to the beginning of the eureurasiaan 'new year' which occurs in the dead of winter and the middle of the night.
We will have our 7-day OBRADWIRA NANANOMSOM observance from September 16th-22nd. This is our 16th year honoring this observance. Last year we had a communal gathering on the Memeneda (Saturday) during this 7-day period. We will do the same this year. See our APOO and OBRADWIRA page for more information:
