What the Bible Says a Christian Must Believe (in a nutshell)

#, Topic, and what the Bible says about the Topic
1 Sexism
Not condemned - it is good.

2 Slavery
Not condemned - it is expected.

3 Inerrancy
Not one iota of the Bible is false.- must believe and obey all of it.

4 Science
Flat earth, inertia does not always matter, can drink any deadly thing and not die.

5 God of the Bible
God of Bible not nice - created evil, deceived, killed, unjust, hypocritical, causes adultery, plays favorites, condones slavery, supports human sacrifice, condones cannibalism, promotes gambling (http://www.assatashakur.org/forum/spirituality-connect-your-center/31166-what-bible-says-christian-must-believe-nutshell.html#), etc. The bible says that Jesus and this God are the same.

6 Christian Poverty
Must give all possessions to poor - otherwise not Christian

7 Divorce
Condemned - definitely not allowed - a sin

8 Public Prayer
Prayer must be in private, not public - woman covered, man not covered

9 Other Injunctions
A number of New Testament injunctions are generally ignored and should not be if the Bible is inerrant -- hate parents, not to oppose evil, not to plan ahead, not judge others; women not speak in church, not wear pants, not wear gold, etc,; men not have long hair, not use non-Christian Judges, no repetition in prayer, not call anyone father (Catholics!), must obey all old testament laws, etc.

10 Intellectualism
Pro-intellectual and anti-intellectual - you can take your choice. For anti-intellectual -- must not welcome an unbeliever into your house.

11 Jesus believed
Jesus believed the old testament word for word

12 Homosexuality
Condemned - a sin

13 Human + animal sacrifice
205 verses to do with animal and drink sacrifices and some human sacrifice. Sacrificing must be important -- to be done because the law of the old testament are not to be omitted according to Jesus.

14 Old Law remembered
15 Old Law ignored
Many old testament laws not obeyed should be obeyed -- e.g. eye for an eye, no interest charges to poor or brother, tassels for cloak, can eat out of someone else's field if passing through it, no pork, newly married man not go to war for 1 year.

16 Anti-semitism
Jews are Jesus killers

17 Death Penalty
Definitely for death penalty for many activities such as: For working on the Sabbath (Saturday), for cursing or striking father or mother, stubborn or rebellious son, for serving any other God, for not being a virgin on wedding night if you are woman, for adultery, for homosexual act, for being a wizard or medium, for being a witch, lies with daughter or mother-in-law, betrothed virgin and another man.

18 Children degraded
God lets (even promotes at times) children and fetuses be destroyed.

19 Cannibalism
God condones cannibalism, Jesus seems to promote it symbolically.

20 Contradictions - 4 PARTS--
Must believe many contradictions in numbers, sequences, commandments, etc.

21 Jesus-Resurrection
Many rose before Jesus did, but their and anyone else's rising from the dead depends on Jesus rising from the dead. Contradictions in description of resurrection in the Bible -- there are different versions in the gospels and also Paul's writings.

22 Jesus-Crucifixion
There are several variations of the crucifixion story in the Bible

23 Jesus- Ascension
Ascension took place in several different places depending on source.

24 Jesus-Genealogy
Jesus physically not descendent of David or Solomon. Joseph's genealogy is different in Matthew and Luke.

25 Jesus-no Messiah
Jesus is the Messiah of the Jews although the Bible shows that Jesus could not have been the awaited Messiah.

26 Jesus-false
Many inconsistencies between what is said of Jesus and what Jesus says. Jesus ignores a number of laws and he says all laws must be obeyed. Jesus lies. When Christianity took over in society about 350 A.D. the Dark Ages began -- not good fruit?

27 Jesus-virgin birth
Jesus was of virgin birth and Joseph was his nominal father-- if Joseph not physically Jesus' father then Jesus was not of the seed of David which Jesus must be or he is not the savior. Genealogy of Luke and Mark say Joseph (not Mary) is of the seed of David. Therefore there cannot have been a virgin birth -- this contradicts verses saying Jesus had a virgin birth. Anyone born of a woman is unclean -- Jesus also! Virgin should have been translated "maiden". If Mary was a virgin when Jesus was the first born, she was not a Virgin Mary for long -- Jesus had brothers and sisters (Roman Catholics wrong here) Holy Ghost (God) violated moral law by impregnating Mary.

28 Jesus-trinity
One God
