Power is the ability to define reality and to have other people respond to your definition as if it were their own. - Dr. Wade Nobles
@Obadele Kambon I just started reading today and have a question. On page 21 in the introduction the last paragraph mentions that no traditional Kmtyw system has retained the myth akin to the Wsr legend. That struck me. Then it goes on to say that via migrations similar myths attributed to kings of new kingdoms are seen. Is this the spread of the paternalistic shift coming out of Kemet to other parts of the continent?

Wow... not even finished the introduction and mind is spinning!

There are a looooot of traditional Kmtyw systems, many of which haven't been documented. The nommo being sacrificed and resurrected due to Ogo's mischief isn't far off. I've seen Diop make arguments about a shift from matriarchy to patriarchy in Cultural Unity of Black Kmt and Kmtyw Origin of Civilization: Myth or Reality. If have to revisit what he says about the transition.

There is a part of the video lecture where you mention about the differences mainly in the diaspora when it came to how the ori/head is approached. Rather than being solely dedicated to offering one orisa we should be first committed to the ori but seek guidance from the orisa.
Can you share more insight on this and why you think this is the way in the diaspora? I was thinking synchronization was a major factor in the adoption of this approach. Maybe because we had to synchronize to survive and now that we are going back we can't shake it? This had me stop and think.

Thanks for the reference...I have Diop's book and will check it out. I think it all relates to the particular understanding but the unifying principle in all is the complementary aspect of the understandings.

I am on chapter 4. I am hoping we can make it as soon as possible and incorporate supplemental sources. Looks like if @Obadele Kambon wants to join in we need a suitable time slot for say once a month?
