I always try to do as much research as I can before coming to aK. I would rather post what I've learned instead of asking questions but this word has really got me stumped. I called at least 5 of my friends in Kumase, Ghana and asked them to explain this word to me but none of them gave me a sufficient answer. This word, pempemankoma, is not in any dictionary that I have. Of course the word "apem" means 1,000 so my akan friends told me this word means "thounited snakesnds of people". But, I'm like naw shawty dat aint rigt.
So, what say you aK? What is the meaning of Pempemankoma? There is a sentence that uses the word below.
"Saa ara na ewiase yi a, ɔsoro, asase, ɛpo, asubɔnten ne asase ase ka bɔ mu yi ne emu nnipa pempemankoma yi nyinaa nso wɔ wura."

What are your thoughts on this sentence below? Based on Obadele's post, am I to assume that the words Kumankoma, Odomankoma and Pempemankoma all have to do with great multitudes of something? Of course, they all have that "ankoma" suffix which I find interesting.

With regards to this discussion, I was thinking abot my name Ɛtuɔhene and its opposite Ɛsiɔhene. I figure that the root word domankoma can produce such words as Ɔdomakom, Kumankoma and pempemakoma. Essentialy, if Ɔdomakoma means the creater of all things then perhaps Kumankoma means the destroyer of all things? Am I right to follow that logic?
