The conference will be held October 6-8, 2017 at the Jacob. H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois. It will feature research presentations by international scholars in the areas of linguistics.
This will be a working conference, seeking to advance knowledge in various domains of knowledge pertaining to this language including vocalization, grammar, semantics, glyph study, and literature.

Asante sana for posting. I would love to make the trip for this. Maybe a group trip if enough east coast Kmtyws are interested. I can look to put a package together possibly....my mother is a travel agent. Any east coast people interested?

Day two of the whm mswt mdw nTr conference was powerful beyond expectations. Some of the take aways are as follows:
-The revitalization of mdw nTr will be achieved using exacting methodology, work already pioneered by Cheikh Anta Diop.
-Languages are not only linked to culture, but also are instrumental to our information processing. This holds enormous significance for a people struggle to reclaim its culture.
-Kmtyw languages are vitally important to the revitalization of mdw nTr. The rebirthing of this language is actually augmented via a rigorous engagement and knowledge of living Kmtyw languages.
-The texts of kmt are an indispensable repository for accessing the deep thought of Kmtyw antiquity.
-We need to work tirelessly to develop teaching materials for children, literature for a variety of audiences in various genres, and make this work of reclaiming Kmtyw languages a matter of daily practice. This connects with an insight from yesterday, perhaps more of a reminder than an insight. That is, we need to accept that mistakes are a natural part of the learning process. Given that most of us make mistakes speaking and writing in our primary language, it should be quite unsurprising that we'd do the same in a second (or third) one.

The mdw nTr conference was a momentous success. Folks came from different parts of the U.S., and at least one came from abroad. We featured a body of international scholars, all engaged with the study of Kmtyw languages and Kmtyw deep thought.
There is much work ahead of us. But this weekend affirmed that there are motivated individuals ready to take up this challenge.
Even if you could not attend, don't despair, the whm mswt mdw nTr (the revitalization of mdw nTr) is on-going. There's a job for each of us.
