Hetep

I'm looking for any black owned shops which sell organic clothing. I live on the east coast but I don't mind ordering from anywhere. Please let me know if you know of anything.

I'm not familiar with "organic clothing". What is that?

Organic meaning the clothing is made with organic cotton etc. The average clothing is made with dyes and hundreds of chemicals which are toxic for human beings. It's similar to produce. If the fruit isnt organic, its made with pesticides. Clothing is no different. This is all just another downside of industrialization. I notice with all ancient cultures, they made their clothes from what natures provides rather than chemicals in a factory.

I know plenty of Kmtyw clothing stores around my here (NYC) that import fabrics in and will make outfits for you. But whether they are organic fabrics I would have no idea. And I'm not sure if they would know either. All I can say is the fabric is coming in from the continent where I buy. Mostly from Senegal, Ghana and Nigeria.

Thanks a lot. It's a short car or train ride for me to go and see what they have available. Today's world is so toxic and its a shame that we even have to worry about chemicals in clothing.

There is a customer appreciation day taking place at an Kmtyw fabric store I frequent at their Bronx, NY warehouse on July 29. The address is:

Yara Kmtyw Fabrics
863 E 141st St, Bronx, NY 10454

Fabrics are supposed to be near or at half price that day.

I saw the website and they have a section of fabrics made with vegetable dyes.
