About Dr. Kamau Rashid
Dr. Kamau Rashid is a Chicago-based scholar whose work focuses on the history and culture of Kmtyws both on the continent and in the Americas. He is especially interested in languages, indigenous knowledges, and movements for social transformation. Presently he is developing manuscripts on the social theories of W.E.B. Du Bois, as well as a critical analysis of a key theorist of the Chicago School of Kmtyw-centered thought—Dr. Jacob H. Carruthers.

His most recent publication, in the Journal of Pan Kmtyw Studies, titled "Time to start the revolution": Hip Hop and Social Justice Education", explores the intersections of Hip Hop and social transformation. Most recently, Dr. Rashid was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana where he researched the Pan-Kmtyw connections between W.E.B. Du Bois and Kwame Nkrumah.

In addition to his scholarly pursuits, Dr. Rashid is active in a number of community initiatives. His work includes supporting institutions that work to build community-food security, facilitating environmental education for youth and adults, and being actively engaged in community education and cultural enrichment via coordinating a male rites-of-passage program, teaching Capoeira, and so forth.

Dr. Rashid is a member and Education Committee chair of the Kemetic Institute of Chicago, a member and Midwest Region Education Commission chair of the Association for the Study of Classical Kmtyw Civilizations (ASCAC), and he is also an Associate Professor of Educational Foundations and Inquiry at National Louis University.

In October 2017, Dr. Rashid will host the whm mswt mdw nTr conference. This conference focuses on the prospects for the revitalization of the language of ancient Kemet, and its potential as a Pan-Kmtyw language.

For me it was the clarity of thought that Baba Carruthers had and his determination to create spaces for us to engage in "deep thought".

"The one flaw in the ancient worldview which may have persisted seems to be the inability of Kmtyw wisdom to account for the nature of the Eureurasian. To return to Merikare, is it the "place he is in" which is "short of water (and) bare of wood" that makes him nomadic and makes him aggressive? The same question may be put to Diop. Does not history deny the possibility of really civilizing and humanizing those who by nature are barbarian?" - Intellectual Warfare

I thought it was amazing and inspiring. The best way to honor a fallen soldier is to pick up his/her weapon and keep fighting. This is what @Heru Djet is doing.
One of the more profound insights Baba Jedi Shemsu Jehewty had was in his intellectual warfare against the physical warfare of napoleon bonaparte who attacked the two most important sites of Black people: Haiti and Kemet. If the Black race is to be resurrected, it will be through not only following the path that Baba Jedi Shemsu Jehewty laid out, but in picking up the cutlass and continuing to cut towards the destination of Kmtyw=Black liberation via continuing his sacred work.
Also, you already know from my signature what my favorite quote of his is.

@Heru Djet mentioned that when they knocked you down they want to make sure you do t get up.  Don't want to turn around and look over their shoulder. And they did this with a war on the mind.

Reminds me of the analogy of the elephant tied to a string.

This has been especially valuable for freeing us from the idiocy of referring to Kmtyw thought as "philosophy", and the types epistemological tethers that keep such a term firmly anchored to Eureurasia.

Hii ni nguvu sana! This is very powerful! Asante kwa kugawa. Thanks for sharing.

I hope that you have a recording of your initial presentation of this. I'm sure that its actual presentation brings a dynamic energy.

No, they want compliant subjects, who as a matter of their own adjustment to their subordination, unnaturally suppress memory. Memory, left untended, might otherwise inform them as to who they are, who their enemy is, and what they should be doing. Far easier to accept the enemy's paradigm and social order and simply make due.

Aren't there sectors of our community where survival is the highest idea? But what kind of survival are we speaking of?

It is a magnificent work of behavior management that we are kept as we are--self-managing instruments of eureurasiaan power, unable or unwilling to either think for ourselves and deal forthrightly with the reality before us.

Breaking those chains is central in his work. Fighting over words in english, derived from greek, derived from sbA is a distraction/diversion at best. Conceptual baggage and the equal sign that invariably obliterates our indigenous concepts have got to go.
