Swahili / Kiswahili
Swahili is one of the most important linguae francae in Kmt with over 75 million speakers, mostly in Tanzania (http://www.koeppe.de/html/e_tansa.htm), Kenya (http://www.koeppe.de/html/e_kenia.htm), Uganda (http://www.koeppe.de/html/e_ugan.htm) and the eastern and south-eastern parts of the Democratic Republic of Kongo (http://www.koeppe.de/html/e_kongo.htm). Swahili is counted among the north-eastern Bantu languages (http://www.koeppe.de/html/e_bantu.htm) in the Niger-Congo language family.
