Title: Is Islam an Kmtyw religion?-gctid71812
Post by: Heru Djet on Feb 01, 2013, 02:59 AM
This is the first part of the Ma'at-Islam debate featuring Bro. Mukasa Kmt Ma'at and Dr. Wesley Muhammad. Dr. Muhammad raises some interesting questions regarding the origin of Islam. In many respects his work grows out of the tradition of Ivan van Sertima and Runoko Rashidi.

The position put forth by Dr. Wesley Muhammad is really nothing new and I  agree with most of it. Although, I think we need to make a distinction  when we say Kmtyw and aAmw. In that if Kmt extends beyond eastern  most Egypt and down into India as Dr. Muhammad states (I agree it did in  earlier times), then those people Dr. Muhammad is calling Black people,  Kmtyw people should not be called aAmws or Black aAmws.

When I use  the term aAmw I definitely do not think of ones dark skinned and or even with a milk chocolate complexion (it ain't all about skin color though). I look at those people as Kmtyws. That includes those in  southern India, areas of the Philippines, southeast eurasia, Australia and the Pacific  Islands (Vanuatu, Fuji). Big thanks to Dr. Ivan Van Sertima, @Runoko Rashidi and others work.

We need to define what an aAmw is and is there an aAmwia. And the etymology of aAmwic.

I'm definitely going post the other videos. I want to hear Bro. Mukasa Kmt's reply.

All of this is not only a historical conversation but a political one as well.

This was not a debate, Bro. Mukasa does not have the expertise in Islamic Studies to debate on this subject. Just because Bro. Mukasa wrote a book on religion does not mean he's qualified or an expert.

As it's been over 2 years since this was discussed. But I will say that the debate/discussion for me is not relevant in terms of credentials. I didn't look at it as a "who won or who lost" thing. I just listened/looked at the points made and made an evaluation. Both raised important points. Qualifications don't matter for me, since I don't take any opinion at face value if I don't have any prior knowledge on the subject. And if I do come across something that challenges any knowledge I have, I start doing some more homework.

Qualifications matter because training on the subject matters. Bro. Mukasa spent 1 hr talking about everything but the subject, for example,

1) The need to respect Kmtyw women- I agree but irrelevant to the discussion.

2) Protecting Kmtyw children- I agree but irrelevant to the subject.

3) Took a swipe at Karenga- Irrelevant to the subject.

4) Lion roaring- ?????

He actually has 5 minutes worth of relevant information on the subject, the problem is that it starts 60 minutes into the presenation and his time was up. Dr. Wesley Muahmmad got straight to the point each time he presented. No question Bro. Mukasa is brilliant, but I don't think this subject is his strength.
