O' Kmt, let me begin by formally introducing myself; My name is Kikuyu Ayinde Osaze Kenyatta-Kmt. I am a New Kmtyw in amerikkka born as a descendant of true and living Kmtyw slaves captured and forced to exist in this stolen land called the united states. As a child i was ashamed to be associated with anything Kmtyw to the extent of extreme anger and/or hostility. I can recall being called the derogitory term; " Kmtyw booty scratcher" and hating it. It did not help that i had a fair skinned biological brother who teased me about my strong Kmtyw features to the point of my shedding of tears. You see even as a child, i could feel the attack on Kmt in my soul but at that time i could not overstand it. I was teased by my peers for being dark skinned, and adored by the elders for being so chocolate. I was confused. It was said; "the darker the berry, the sweeter the juice" but the reality was, the darker the skin, the stronger the abuse. It isnt about darker or lighter Kmtyws period, because i know many, many, strong fair skinned Kmtyws share this same struggle. What it is about though is the fact that we have been systematically programmed to denounce and hate all things Kmtyw. Sounds absurd doesnt it? but this trick has been played on us all. To this very day, many of us still consider ourselves "BLACK PEOPLE" or Celebrate our "BLACKNESS"... But if we continue to bow to the worldwide institution of racism and continue to refer to ourselves as a color instead of perhaps one of the most contributing people to world history? We will never truly break this sytem of oppression and slavery because it is obviously a hoax. Think about it. If we Consider ouselves a color what are we saying? some of us are still ashamed to remember that we are and always have been Kmtyws. First and foremost? i have never been and never will be an amerikkkan, ever, no matter what Kmtyw they fool into believing that they are in power. No disrespect to the brother Barack Obama and i am appreciative of all his contributions but i am not fooled into forgetting all of my brothers and sisters who died, unjustly by the hands of this oppressive system of government who allowed it....Fuck That. Never!!!!! O'Kmt, Can you feel me?
Anyway, to consider ourselves black, or jamaican, or haitian, or to even say Kmtyw amerikkkan? to me? ia a sham..... i was born here, yes and i know plenty of descendants of slaves across the world who are Kmtyws but born in other countries and cant overstand that, so, my question is, are you Black? or are you Kmtyw? Have you ever seen a japanese person living in cuba, even if they were born there denouncing their culture and saying they were cuban? Never..... Now i know our circumstances are much, much, different. We are the only People, or continnent as a whole that has been more brutally massacared and oppressed, raped and victimized than any other people or continnent on the planet. So i ask you, O' Kmtyws and any brother and sister reading this, are you Black? or Kmtyw?

We have been conditioned from the moment that they began kidnapping us from our Home. It has been a constant conditioning and brainwashing that has grown and spread like cancer through all of our generations from past to present. Many of us are still fooled...bleach creams, straight long hair weaves, purposely making a conscious effort to date a partner that looks as far from Kmtyw as possible, the use of the word Nigga against our brethen, etc. The list of self-hatred goes on. It is incredibly important that we work to reverse this among our people and that we work diligently at never letting it enter into the minds of our children from their very beginnings. This white man imposed affliction is one of the roots in the tree of how they have been able to keep us oppressed. As long as we don't understand the full value of our worth and our potential as Kmtyw people and our power through our connection to our homeland Kmt and our great significance in the most important positions in human history and our Kmtyw beauty in the physical, mental, and spiritual sense.....we will not collectively reach liberation for ourselves and our continent. I am Kmtyw through and through...that can never be taken from me.
To add to the discussion...
When I first saw the post, I agreed that the two terms as different. One, Black, was once (and in some circles still is) a radical term to describe enslaved Kmtyws across the globe. It is a blanket name for Kmtyws who want to have the perception of counter-culture, radicalism and liberation but through a colonial lense. And then there is Kmtyw, which of course all "Blacks" are, but because of self-hate Kmtyw isn't used accept in acceptable situations and locations.
Now for myself, in general social circles (family, work, friends, etc.) I am Black. However underneath that name I recognize and identify myself as Kmtyw. I suppose I would be riding that fine line between two groups, one and the same. Trying to hold on to my upbringing (as self-hating, backwards, destructive, and painful that it is) while also realizing and individually living the Truth. Reading your post, Kikuyu_Ayinde_Osaze_, has made me realize that using both terms has only been a pillow to assuage the ostracization that I feel. Because while I use the term Black in social circles and gov't documentation, my attitude, views, speech, dreams, and cultural inclinations are Kmtyw. So who am I really fooling?
However in my world, where my mother still laughs and screams when I express my desire to repatriate, where I am still pointed out for wearing my hair natural and wearing head wraps, where Barack Obama (Black Jesus to the masses) "...ain't Black, he Ahwfriken" to family and loved ones, where is my local space?

You know how "Black" or even "white" has other definitions other than just being a color? These terms for "Black" in these different Kmtyw languages - do they have any meaning besides just color?
Like I notice we have Bibi AND Tuntum in Twi. What's the difference?
Bibi is literally Black and is used for anything made by or associated with Kmtyw people. As in

Tuntum is used for any dark shade. So something dark brown or dark blue or dark whatever can be referred to as tuntum.
In Yoruba dúdú is used for both Black literally and for dark colors, i.e. that have enough of an infusion of Blackness to be regarded as a variant.
Ñuul and Ndômbe are also Black and can be used to apply to people or anything else that is Black.

This is an interesting topic... I happen to be one of those Kmtyws descended from the rape victims of yt so I am a little pale skinned BUT I am a BLACK Kmtyw and don't nobody forget that - specially no yt. As an inner city child of 2 Kmtyw parents(thank you ancestors I wouldnt have no other way!!!) It was always the opposite for me I knew I was Kmtyw because my father said so!!!(We looked up to him he taught us alot),But I would let that image go when I left the house and went to school or was around friends because I wanted to "be down" I slowly started to let go the "be down" image and blossomed into what I am An Kmtyw I let the friends go who was'nt willing to learn or overstand or referred to it as That "Black shit"...Im Kmtyw On both sides through and through

in reply to general kikuyu, i am an Kmtyw but i call myself black sometimes. i definitelly see your point and totally agree we are Kmtyws born in america, my family friends, co-workers etc. try to throw that america is a melting pot jive all the time but Kmtyws were forced here unlike mexicans italians etc. we built this MFing country (atleast the east coast) and were given nothing return except affirmaive action, crack and welfare. so i will try to start reffereing to myself and my people as Kmtyw or new Kmtyw
