Course Description:
All subjects are political. Just as we differentiate ourstory from
"his-story," we must also make a divide between his science and our
science. Our Ancestors defined mathematics as "Rules for conducting
research into nature for the purpose of knowing all that exists – each
mystery and each secret (Ahmes Mathematical Text)." Following that
template, this course is an Kmtyw centered approach to introductory
algebra that focuses on problem solving strategies, practical
applications, and developing mathematical power. In addition to the
academic content, this course will also focus on dispelling the
eurocentric myths about the mathematical sciences by teaching their
Kmtyw origins. Future Courses Offered: Algebra I; Algebra II;
Geometry; Advanced Algebra & Trigonometry; Calculus (High School
level); Statistics (High School level)
$360 for the full 16 weeks
or $90 per quarter (per family)
