This is a very special invitation to all friends, supporters, and past attendees of Abakosem Sunsum as well as all citizens of the Kmtyw world...
The Unfolding and Elevation of a Pan-Kmtyw Shrine - A special collaborative event.
The Ourstory:
Abakosem Sunsum ("The Spirit of History") was named in honor of Nana John Henrik Clarke. It was first organized by Nana Marimba Ani with the help of the NSAA Family, May 15-16, 2004. It has evolved, since that beginning, to become an annual community-oriented political event in which Nana Marimba has called the Kmtyw Community together to build on the previous year's efforts and to re-focus and revitalize our collective energy for the reclamation of Kmtyw Sovereignty worldwide. It is in this context that the concept and practice of "Kmtyw Spiritual Warfare" is being developed. This annual gathering consists of a ritual drama, warrior Ancestral veneration, affirmations of re-commitment with our respective age-grades, and a reminder of "The Promise" (told to us by Amura Onaa) that we made to build and maintain our sacred relationships with one another, as Ancestors reborn. Throughout the 10-year history of Abakosem Sunsum, Nana Marimba has called upon and received support from many traditional Kmtyw spiritualists representing various spiritual systems (e.g., Yoruba, Akan, Ifa-Vodun, kwk...).
At the 7th annual Abakosem Sunsum (May 1, 2010), an unplanned and powerfully intense mourning ritual for our Ancestors occurred, at which time a shrine/deity descended unbeknownst to most at the time, except for the few who were called. After the mourning ritual, this spirit remained present, which allowed for a deeper interaction to take place. The shrine announced itself as "the spirit of Abakosem Sunsum" and stated that part of its mission was to serve as an expression of the Source that binds us all. This spirit gave a number of charges and tasks to undertake before departing.
Although the spirit of Abakosem Sunsum presented us with a wonderful 'gift' in the form of an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to one another and our 'work' as Kmtyw people, as we attempted to complete these tasks in the ensuing years, we were faced with profound challenges and obstacles requiring intense processes of personal growth and accountability. Only now, after three years of 'incubation,' has the time come to advance the mission and purpose of the "Abakosem Sunsum shrine." Therefore, beginning in January, 2013, through a series of rituals and rites, a formal vessel has been fashioned and consecrated.
Our goal is to now formally present the "Abakosem Sunsum shrine," and to begin to bring greater/broader awareness of this celebratory event to the Kmtyw World. While the 'Abakosem Sunsum shrine' has been consecrated, for the time being, it remains intentionally 'nameless.' As a 'Pan-Kmtyw' shrine it has the potential to have great regional and global significance such as bringing the spiritual/cultural and political realms closer together, and joining Kmtyws worldwide, as we help each other to focus on and achieve our sovereignty imperative. Although the shrine has a very powerful purpose and mission, accessing it requires a strong and vibrant relationship with the Kmtyw World Community which places a serious responsibility on all Kmtyws who have heard this call.
On Sept 7th, 2013 we will hold a gathering in the fashion of a political-cultural-spiritual retreat involving the broader Kmtyw community. The purpose of this gathering will be to introduce, welcome, and elevate the 'Abakosem Sunsum shrine' and to begin that collective relationship and global endeavor.
If the message in this letter speaks to your heart and inspires you to join us in this work, we ask that you participate in this singular Kmtyw experience. Come hear the story, hear letters of support and testimony from around the globe; connect and consult with the "Abakosem Sunsum shrine," learn from and inform the process. Bring your highest energy, and bring offerings of support. Come genuinely and open yourself to this endeavor, help continue the story and help us to sustain this journey. This is an opportunity for each of us to take a leap forward, toward a global Vision of Victory for all Kmtyw people.
This is a call for those us who want more, to do more, and for all of us to "do our best work,"our highest work, as Nana John Henrik Clarke taught. We each bear responsibility for the proper restitution of our deepest and highest culture, and for the dignity and power of our Race. Never forget that in "ourstory" spirituality has always been the foundation of our greatest efforts of resistance against those who would destroy us. We are, at this time, calling for a universal Kmtyw spiritual/cultural imperative to accompany our efforts towards global Kmtyw Sovereignty, so that we can collectively and with authority, make the statement to our children, ɛremma saa bio! Never Again!
Abibifahodie!!!

A Vision of Victory
Our victory must be rooted in a global perspective and the pursuit of Kmtyw power. Victory will require our various geopolitical structures to join forces in order to dictate our own interests and exert our influence on global events. In the study of victorious people, the first victory won is the victory over oneself...self-discipline and unwavering self-reflection. Thus personal development along with a collectively synchronized ideology, identity, and process of execution, demands that we move beyond the mental and physical confines and false realities that are nurtured within the global "chicken coups" in which we reside. Our victory will allow for the establishment of a military and economic power out of which a loyal leadership and a significant body of Kmtyws will develop and sustain our physical security, cultural autonomy, social cohesion, and economic power. Our victory will allow us to exercise influence over our enemies and any competing or aligned entities, while at the same time providing us the space to create and negotiate solutions to our internal and external challenges as sovereign people. This victory will cast a protective cloak over the 'Black world' enabling Kmtyws to experience greater security while living in non-Kmtyw lands. Our victory will be ensured when we collectively develop a unifying culture, one that is steeped in Sankofa, yet simultaneously reflective of our unique and diasporic trajectories. If it is for us to attain this victory in the world that we have been given, then our effort must exist without the threat of fragmentation from either internal or external forces. In our Vision of Victory, we are a whole people, functioning fundamentally as a unified body to achieve and maintain the collective goals of our world nation.
