Spider with its intricate web (netting) and modern information technology with its world wide web (netting), definitely have many things in common. For instance, spider spins and the result of its spinning is called "web"—spider web. Modern information technology is spurn into a web and the result of that spinning is the world-wide-web, shortened most times to "the inter-net." In terms of strength, spider is fragile when compared to the strength of its web (net). The internet by its virtual-self (not real) is fragile, too, but very powerful, so powerful that it has connected the world to a virtual village. The key to accessing this inter-net connection (entering the connected virtual village) is its acronym "WWW."
Ifa's recognition of the essence of spider webs has been since the evolution of life itself: the essence of spider's intricate weaving has never been lost to Ifa. As such, Ifa uses spider's netting in metaphor, in iwures (prayers), and for good medicine. So, since we are all familiar with both the spider web and the world-wide-web (internet), and we all love the internet, we might as well complement our WWW netting with the essence of nature's spider netting by including the above Ifa's prayers in our daily activities-- WWW netting. May our daily endeavors be crowned with success. May life be gentle on us so our worldly tasks be may be simplified. Ase. A ji ire ni oni (Good morning).
