Me nuanom,
I didn't realize it was international women's day until I went to google. Is it just me or does the Roman god venus look and awful lot like the Akan god Akua ba?

The symbolism is derived from the same primordial ancient Kmtyw spiritual roots. The similarities between the Akua ba, the Venus symbol, and the Ankh are all derived from the same archetypical understanding of life, fertility, fecundity, feminine divinity, and so forth. Even the ancient Chinese symbol for 'Heaven' has some similar attributes.
More than likeness, the greatest discovery directs us to the truest meaning, life-giving, and liberating force behind the symbol or form.
Aane,
Ɛyɛ ampara, I actually told someone the same things yesterday once I went to Google. I am sure many people who are Akans or familiar with Akan culture never made the connection until yesterday!
:D I am glad that you shared it
The sad part is most of our people would probably recognize the roman version before any of ours.
In the ancient world, symbols and the meaning behind them were more powerful than words, especially, amongst the adepts or the initiated.
This shape or symbol in some form can be found all over the ancient world as it relates to life, rebirth, fertility, and the divine feminine.
The rational mind has overwhelmed the intuitive, and as one scholar called it, our "Kmtyw way of knowing" is distracted by the noise of modernism and it's de-spiritualized superficial and literal approach to everything.
Everything has been turned inside out to accommodate the people from the bottom of the world (the north) ,i.e., the eureurasiaans.
The pieces of the puzzle are a symbolic road map, and the journey has just began.
Also notice the resemblance to the Ankh; the source of both. One by rightful descent (Akuaba), one by cultural banditry (venus).
Have any of you all read The Kmtyws Who Wrote the Bible?
If so, what was your take on the book?
