Structured Slavery don't allow me to believe that going to work
everyday, and sending my kids off to school is slavery.
I forget that colonizers are teaching my kids.
I
wanna believe. . . .
Taking care of children and raising them is not the same.
My momma hid while grown women kissed me in the mouth/
she hid in the house.
Remember this. I prayed that I would make it through one more session of sex. Wasn't she soo old. She was fat, and had left some blood on my condom. Wow! Ain't I doing my thang!
And she stank.
My momma was hiding.
She was always saving my dad from smoking them rocks, and doing herione/ while I was getting tongue kissed by grown women; adults.
I was just spending the night up at they house; just kicking' it'/ just spending the night with an adult of the opposite sex.
momma, you played your part; to a fault.
You loved me until I could love myself/ while turning your back on me
believing rape, abuse, and insanity would only make me stronger.
It only made me more incapable of living life on life's terms.
So just cause' you take care of someone don't mean you raised them.
A power greater than myself got me from A to B.
My mom shouldn't be alive. Neither should my uncle's or my dad.
Some of this is they experience. I had to start seperating the real from the fake.
It was all mixed up together with they mess.
My experience was dancing', not abuse and rape.
So just for today I choose not to be a victim;
a slave in my own head.
