The videos below show an interview of a medicine man from the Northern regions of Ghana. Most conscious Black people have read the fantastic stories in Malidoma Some's book Of Water and the Spirit. The Northern regions of Ghana and beyond have some really strong spiritual traditions that have been preserved for a long time.
In the videos below the medicine man, when invoking the power of his deities, uses "Kabbalistic formulas". You can hear them yourself. These formualas operate on universal laws and can be created by humans, by elemental beings (mmoetia/Kontomble etc) and by other conscious beings.
One of the incantations he uses (in the last video below) goes something like this:
"Ha za ma 'kabacha [kabala] ge nu ma iza power to iza [his deity] ozigi je me no pala lo jemi lo pala "kofi Bribri" [another deity]...fire!...power to iza...life!...hindu kabacha [kabala]...etc"
I think these are examples of formulas. This particular medicine man also went to eurasia (India) to see what power they have there. I think there is a connection between the elemental beings in Ghana and those in the Indian region. Although this may sound strange, I am basing this statement of what I know the Mmoetia in Ghana do with spiritual beings in India.

I agree. In India, Mmoetia type beings are referred to as Yaksha and have cults and priesthoods just like in Kmt. In the video he's invoking an alezini (the name for Mmoetia in the Dagbani language) and its wife in Dagbani in order to cause what you see to manifest.

Awabode87, thanks so much for the insider translation of Dagbani. I see, so Naatia is probably Dagomba, how interesting! I suppose he could also originate from one of the other groups (Mamprusi, Konkomba etc). I would love to visit Yendi sometime in the near future. As you may well know, it's meant to be the largest (traditional) village in all of West Kmt. It is interesting that the Dagomba (Dia-Gbon-Mba) people are said to have been the precursors of the Mossi, together with the Mande. I suppose I'm referring to the story of Tohajie the "Red Hunter". Thanks for the meaning of "alezini". In Gabriel Bannerman-Richter's book Mmoetia The Mysterious Little People (where he conducts taped interviews of some Mmoetia), it is said that sometimes the Ghanaian mmoetia liaise with spirit beings in places as far as India, in order to provide specific "medicines" for people. Thanks for the info on Yaksha. I spent 3 months traveling through parts of India and met up with some Brahmin priests, they have some very interesting practices and traditions.
Sis Aisha, aseda nni hɔ :) I felt that Naatia speaks with honesty, assurance and even with a bit of humour, he's definitely the real deal. A couple of years back I was listening to Peace FM (Ghanaian Twi radio station). They had a guy there who also did some demonstrations and his "formulas" were different from those Naatia used, but similar in certain respects as well. I really like that he uses his powers to help others. I imagine that there are all these Kmtyw medicine people out there like Naatia, who will never be well known to the wider world, but who are doing really good work to help their communities. I always get happy knowing that these traditions are alive and that hopefully those for whom they are meant to be passed onto will receive such traditions.

On a different note, there is a most interesting article entitled "Sakrobundi and Aberewa : Sie Kwaku the witch-finder in the Akan world (http://www.abibitumikasa.com/forums/Kmtyw-spiritual-systems/42301-sakrobundi-aberewa-sie-kwaku-witch-finder-akan-world.html)". In this article, Sie Kwaku is a Bono Akan from Gyaman in Cote d'Ivoire who goes "up north" to find his deity after being guided to do so. He then brings the deity to his community in order to help his people. Once again we have a situation where guys go "up north". It is almost as if because traditions have been kept for so long among the Mossi and Gur peoples, the "dimensional gap" between our reality and that of the spirits is much thinner. So you always find the smallest, most ancient and most decentralized groups of Kmtyws have the most powerful medicine (imho, I could be wrong). The Guans of Larteh and Krachi, the Gonja and the various Northern groups have very ancient traditions, others go to learn from them. Same thing happened to Credo Mutwa, who had to go searching for knowledge and initiations. The migratory Kmtyws like the Akan and many others sometimes carried their deities with them from place to place.
"Sakrobundi" is really bad Twi (eureurasiaan butchering of the language) for "Sakra wo bɔne di" (repent of your evil-doing). It is like today's Tigare, where certain specialist Spirits are tasked with 'arresting' negatively oriented abayifo ('witches') as they operate in the non-physical realms of existence. The results of such 'arrests' are real in this reality, if these abayifo refuse to comply, their 'life thread' can be broken, which will lead to death. "Aberewa" means 'old lady' or 'old woman' for non-Twi speakers.

Great video's! Thanks for sharing! I too like the fact that he uses his powers to help others. So many priest use their powers for their own selfish gains. Not to say that one cannot be prosperous but some priest are corrupt and use their powers to do wrong and hurt others. They usually don't last long.
Most welcome, Sister Okomfo11. Naa Tia ("father of all powers") had his interview with Yaw Sakyi (the Rundown show host) in February 2010. Out of a few other spiritual office holders (small list (http://icacanet.ning.com/profiles/blogs/ghana-radio-psychic-and-divine)), one who I am interested in learning more about is Nana Abosomakotere (http://nanaabosomkotre.webs.com/aboutus.htm). In the section of his "feats" where it says that he teleported physically from Accra to Tamale for a conference, I'd say that there are other spiritualists who can also do the same thing.
My Blak Spiritual Brother once told me a story about how some medicine people (2 men in particular) allowed themselves to be captured as slaves who were subsequently brought to Amerika. Upon arrival and after observing what slavery was like and what the journey was like, they turned around, said goodbye to their people and "flew" back to Kmt. I did not ask him where he got the story from but it wouldn't surprise me if it is true.
I really hope that these traditions continue to get passed on. I guess those who are fortunate to learn directly from the Spirits like the Mmoetia (as Nana Abosomakotre is said to have done) will receive training that has not changed for eons. To able to use this knowledge to positively aid one's community is really what earns my highest respect.
Oh by the way everything shown in the Malian movie Yeelen is for real. One thing that surprised me is that in the movie when the Kora secret society met and were signing their 'songs' one of the songs where the medicine man sounds like a bleating goat is the same kind of song I found on Mustapha Tetty Addy's CD "Secret Rhythms", on the seventh track called "Greeting". I suspect that this is possibly a Ga version of a blacksmith song also sung by the Mande Blacksmiths.
Kwame, it is true. Kmtyw people are spiritually powerful. We don't see or hear of the powers and wonders because we live in a society (racist/white supremist society) where it is suppressed. Also, there are a lot of perpetrators out there. However, it is real and possible for all of us to live/exist in a reality where transporting oneself from one place to another is as easy as breathing. There are very few priest/priestess who work honestly and righteously. It can be disheartening and discouraging for any Kmtyw trying to reconnect or solidify their benevolent ancestral connection when there are so many priestess/priest who are corrupt and out right evil.
I have Yeelen and it is one of my favorite movies. "Meokgo and the Stick Fighter" is another great film that shows the powers and wonders of Kmtyw spirituality. I have the "Secret Rhythms" CD as well. Have not listened to it in a long while. I'll check out the track you are referring to.

I think those who search for power shortcuts and those who patronize the darker side of spiritual traditions should be approached with caution or avoided by those with less experience or those who do not resonate with such. I have a just a little bit of experience being on the receiving end of the darker vibrations and they were not experiences I would want to repeat.
I'm glad to hear that you've got "Secret Rhythms". Track 4 on the CD ("Oshika") is I believe, 'a call to the ancient past' in the drum language/rhythm. When I listen to it, I feel as if I'm sent back, way far back. I've started reading Ayi Kwei Armah's "2000 seasons" and in the earlier part of the book he talks about "the way"...this is the feeling I get when I listen to "Oshika"...it is almost like a call back to "the way". So far, 2000 seasons is blowing me away, even more than "the healers". Track 5 ("Fohe") is also really something. Gives goosebumps all over, I think it's related to "Pili Pili" (tracks 2 and 8) which is just a fantastic, ecstatic rhythm.

hmmmm its really hard..the problem i have it that if they have all these why cant they still help us and they just use us...??i recall an encounter with one of the fetish priest in a town called ASAMANKETWA in koforidua.he displayed his mgical powers to us and at the end of the day run away with a sum of 260 million ghanaian cedis that belong to us.so what would you say about this my brothers and sisters..si there anyone who can really get us our money back ild be glad and thankful and i will throw that challenge to that person .......
Ninno, display of magical power in my view does not mean you should give your power away to anyone. If you are a Soul incarnated here then you are an Eternal Being already with great powers and abilities inherent in your nature. My advise when dealing with any individuals is to use discernment, there have always been different sources of power since ancient times. Some people of power are predominantly of a 'negative orientation', some are of a 'positive orientation', some are a bit here, a bit there ('grey' orientation) a very, very few are of true non-dual orientation so use your individual power to discern and don't always trust so easily.
If you want to find out about your money, there are several possible ways to do this, including consulting the police and registering the case open for investigation, consulting a genuine diviner (or both) or tracking him down yourself or with some help from others. These are only suggestions but the point I am making here is that in my view, no one should give their power away to anyone simply because they set themselves up as an authority. Your own Soul is the ultimate authority of your experiences while incarnated, everything else (including this advice) is auxiliary and may or may not be helpful.

Well first you'll need to find a diviner, possibly one of good repute and with a good success rate and also one that you resonate with. If you choose to do this, the diviner may be successful in locating the person who you said ran off with your money. Should you be successful in finding your man if you chose this line of action, the rest, I believe, is up to you :blackicon_wink:

Naatia is genuinely a humble brother, I saw a interview of him on YouTube where he donated money and some other items to a youth center in Tamale. The brother was sincere and vowed to continue to support the facility, but with that said I'm no fool. The brother is clearly running game on people and that is not acceptable.
We've got to evolve, Kmtyw spirituality is not about cheap magic tricks.
Sadly, in another clip he attempted to resurrect a dead chicken, however people on YouTube caught on to the fact that the chicken was not dead he just temporarily cut off its circulation. What a joke!
You know in America if he attempted to pass on those tricks as real he would be challenged relentlessly from scientist, magicians, etc. In Ghana we stand back and act as if what we see with the naked eye is 100% true.
Lastly in regards to sika duro, why would I let another man tell me how to wash and when to wash, all this for money? That ain't real manhood, I shudder to think what my forefathers would say to this?
The reason I mention akɔm ho nkɔmmɔbɔ is because the ɔkɔmfoɔ in question divulges the techniques he used to, as you put it, "run game". It's all in Twi but it's an interesting read for one who may be interesting in debunking the "magic tricks".
