I was wondering where I can find additional resources on systems in my area as well as finding which system(s) you were purposed to be in. I want to make sure that I am not entangled with a system that has oburoni influence or is just religiosity and not spirituality. Where does one begin the journey? I have read a few books and one ended up being written by an oburoni that practiced Ifa, which was extremely disheartening to learn. I appreciate any resources as well as any info shared regarding your personal experiences/journeys.

You ask a very interesting question with intricate answers Keedy. You mentioned fiding a SYSTEM that is not obruni influences. All of our systems are Kmtyw and for Kmtyws only. However, if you are speaking about finding a spiritual "house" (bosomfie, houmfor, ile, vodunli, kwk) that does not have obruni around then that is a different story.
I noticed that you are in Virginia. Well, I am in contact with a nationalistic Okomfo there that is part of the Ankobea Society. They do not deal with obruni at all. I do not know of any Ifa (Yoruba) or Vodun houses in your area. Then you may have to travel. Of course, there is the Oluko of this site, Akyeame Obadele, whose mother has a spiritual house in North Carolina.
You mentioned an obruni writing a book you read and he/she practiced Ifa. At most they can CLAIM to practice an Kmtyw tradition but they never can. No Kmtyw deity or oracle speaks to any obruni at all.

Medase for such a quick response. I have been informed of a spiritual house in the DC area by a sister that lives in my area but travels to that house. My question on top of this is do you have to choose one or do the systems coincide and interpolate. And how do you know the right system? I overstand in Ifa that you are told which Orisha crowns you and you devote yourself to that Orisha. But does that Orisha coincide with deities in other systems?
I hope I am not asking too mcuh. I just want to make sure I am on the right path after being indoctrinated in other things that do not hold true to th upliftment of Kmtyws.

You are on the right path my sister. The Orisa and Abosom do correspond more than they do not. Does one have to chose? It's according to your approach to the tradition. My PERSONAL opinion is that we do not have to chose and that all Kmtyw traditions are valid. You can ask other people on here their opinions.
