Begins Thursday April 28th-July 31, 2011, from 8:00 pm -10:00 pm and Sun. 11:00am-1:00pm.
This will be a 14 week course twice a week, Thurs. and Sun.

Positive discussions about KMT is no longer sufficient if our aim is to advance the discipline with sound scholarship. Course Description-This course will introduce the student to the language and culture of Kemet/Ta-mari. The basic grammar rules, key terminology and principle characteristics of the Medew Netcher (Egyptian Hieroglyphics); along with pronunciation, and vocabulary are the primary focuses of this class. The language will be used to illustrate the Kmtyw cultural aspect of Kemetic society. Each class lessons can be downloaded by registered students.
The Main focus of the beginning class will be the introduction to the methodology of learning the Medew Netcher language. This methodology will enable the student to learn a valuable research tool that will enhance their academic career. No books will be required for the first 14 week class. I provide all class material in the form of handouts of information to be learned.
The materials the student will need are the following: Any computer Hieroglyphic font program (you can get by without one), one note book, a 3 ring binder for portfolio. Also a pencil, Medew Netcher is a picture language but this is not an art class.
Each class lesson can be downloaded by registered students.
Regular attendance is required.
Course Objectives-
1st half: Week: 1. Introduction to the history of Kemet (Egypt), the Medew Netcher language and how the class will be conducted (how to log on). Class will meet twice a week, one for instructions by lecture and the other day is a workshop for writing and translating.
Weeks 2-8. Medew Netcher Lessons 1-4 of Gardiner's Middle Egyptian Grammar and Grammar lessons based on the work of Dr. Rkhty Jones and Dr. Theophile Obenga.
Weeks 9-13. Lessons 5-8 of Gardiner's Middle Egyptian Grammar and Gramar lessons based on the work of Dr. Rkhty Jones and Dr. Theophile Obenga.
Weeks 14. Final test, review of all work.
The following are some of the basic principle characteristics of Medew Netcher the student will be asked to learn and know from memory!
Characteristics of the symbols: ideograms, determinatives, phonograms, phonetic complements
Characteristics of sentences: direction of writing, word order, verbal and non-verbal sentences, the logical nexus. Pronoun and adjective use.
Course Overview-This course will engage the student in a serious inquiry into the Medew Netcher language. In this particular course, the language will be approached by employing the standards establish by the science of linguistics while acknowledging its Kmtyw cultural aspects. This will allow the student to have foundations that prepare and enables them to take part in public discourses on Kemet based on primary research.
Students will be required to construct a "Student Portfolio" of their translations work, with grammatical notes. This student portfolio will becomes one of their primary reference tools for part two of this course.
When the student acquires an understanding of the basic grammar rules and memorizes a vocabulary of Medew Netcher words, they can began to focus more on the study of translating texts from papyri and temples. How long it takes to put this information to memory is hard to say. It depends on how much time is put into daily study of Medew Netcher grammar by the individual student or their group. The student will find that philosophical concepts found throughout Kmtyw culture are beneficial for understanding the Medew Netcher language.

Keys for Study
The Key to learning to translate Medew Netcher is to learn the grammar rules of Medew Netcher. Without an understanding of the grammar rules you will never understand how the people of Kemet expressed their thoughts in their own words.
The focus of study must be the grammar rules of the Medew Netcher language based on the science of linguistics. During class all discussion will be about understanding the grammar rules. Make-up games to play to help build vocabulary and retain grammar rules.
Translation is not word or letter substitution.
Find study partners. Because of the amount of information that must be put to memory its helps to have study partners.
Meet regularly; do not find reasons not to attend class.
Akinjide Bonotchi Montgomery
Akinjide Bonotchi Montgomery has been a student and researcher of Kmtyw history and culture for over twenty five years. He is a member of the Association for the Study of Classical Kmtyw Civilization (ASCAC) and one of the founding members of the MDW NTR Study Group of Detroit. Mr. Montgomery at the present is an instructor of Kmtyw Studies at the Timbuktu Science Academy in Detroit, Mi. He has taught the Mdw Ntr language (Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs) at the Nsorma Institute and the Ashia Shule Academy two other Kmtyw centered schools in Detroit Michigan.
Mr. Montgomery began his study of Kmtyw history and culture by taking Kmtyw history seminars conducted by Dr. Yosef ben Jochannan (Doc. Ben) at Shaw College of Detroit from 1976-79. He has traveled to Egypt with Doc. Ben and the Association for the Study of Classical Kmtyw Civilization (ASCAC) in 1981,1987. He studied the Mdw Ntr language (Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs) as a student of Egyptologists, Rkhty Amen-Jones Ph.D. and Theophile Obenga Ph.D. from 1989-99. He has written numerous magazine articles on Kmtyw and Kmtyw-american history (Medew Netcher the Classical Kmtyw Mother Tongue; KMT "The Black City"; Christianity and Islam as Religious Cultural Belief Systems; Josephine St. Pierre Ruffin and the Black Women Club movement; Marcus Garvey and the UNIA). He has produced three outstanding videos, The Old Scrappers a video of short biographies of over fifty men and women scholar activist who have become almost forgotten in the fight against White Supremacy; "To Know KMT by the MDW NTR" a unique view of the language and culture of Kemet and the Nile valley based upon precise translations of the Mdw Ntr text.; All the Transformations of Ra. An examination of the role of Kheper in the Creation Text of Kemet. Along with the Mdw Ntr Study Group of Detroit he wrote and published the Kemetic Spirit Door "The Burial Stela of Khamuy" which provides a unique view into the spiritual concepts of the people of the Nile valley. With the help of other likeminded people in the Detroit community he has written and produce three books, "Resewt, (South)- is - up", or Why Kmtyws Live in a World Turned Up-side Down;" along with a set of Resewt-Up Maps; All the Transformation of Ra. An Examination of the Role of Kheper in the Creation Text of Kemet; The Oral Tradition of Kmt. Words as Intellectual, Cultural, and Spiritual Nourishment.
He has been listed as a "philosopher who is working on the shaping of Kmtyw classical studies, having Kemet as an historical base." The Imhotep magazine on Kmtyw Philosophy; from San Francisco State University School of Kmtyw Philosophy.
