i don't know about her (the author's married to a prosecutor, still trying to integrate after all she wrote, etc.), but read the overview & reviews, then look at the interview. The book breaks down, through "legal" case details, the "legal" ways u.s. white folks set us up to be controlled by them & how their laws have changed over the past 300+ years to keep it that way.
She uses, as an example, that "just because a bird cage has wide openings, doesn't mean the bird can get out", to relate that even if we seem to "free", we're not. The white system historically puts in just enough to hold us back - just like the wires of the cage.

Like i said, "she's suspect" - can't tell the difference between the symptom (jail) & the problem (white supremacy), even though she mentions it. The book is good, but like any tool, it's only as good as why/how,etc, it's used !!!
