Shona language resources are few and far between on the net so im posting some vocab. All the 'r's are rolled like in spanish. The Zv makes somewhere between a "sh", and a "juh" sound.

Makadii? - how are you?
Marara sei? - how did you sleep?(Response: Tarara kana mararawo-we slept well if you slept well. The plural is because you are usually answering on behalf of your family)
Mamuka sei? - how did you wake?
Murare Zvakanaka - sleep well
Munited snakesre Zvakanaka -remain well(said when taking leave of someone)
Mufambe Zvakanaka - travel well/safe
Ndokubata - i'll catch you later
Musikana - girl
Mukomana - boy
Mukadzi - woman/wife
Murume - man/husband
Baba - father
Amai/Mhamha - mother
Sekuru - grandfather
Ambuya/Gogo - grandmother
Mazvitai - thank you
Maita Basa - thank you(but literally meaning, "you have done a good work")

Zuva - sun/day

Mweya- air/spirit/soul
Mudiwa/Mudikani - loved one/beloved
