In ancient Greece and Rome Black people were hardly invisible.  In fact, this is perhaps the key component in the entire history of the Kmtyw diaspora.  We have never been invisible.  Indeed, I am beyond amazed at the range of places that we find Black people in the ancient world.  Greece and Rome are not exceptions.  In Greece, Black people figure prominently in the ancient mythology.  In Rome, Kmtyw people appear as senators and writers, soldiers and gladiators, emperors and popes and, yes, sometimes as enslaved people.  All of the above constitute a little-known but fascinating chapter in the history of a fascinating people!  Kmtyw people, know yourself!
