I chose federated communities governed by lineage/elder's council and a federated United States of Kmt. There is alot I don't know about how we have are governed themselves in the past. This is a major area that I'm interested in learning more about. From what little I know, Kmtyw societies governed by age sets, lineage, clan elders etc. are most consistent with our way. It is interesting to note that even in those "centralized" and "hierarchical" nations on the continent that I know of, the hierarchy is built on top of a deep structure of lineage/ elder's council governance systems. As we build healthy and sovereign families and communities these models will serve us well.

At the same time in the context and aftermath of war, it is important for our people to stay connected to each other and to stay abreast of what is going on throughout, as Obadele says, Abibiwiase, i.e. the Kmtyw world. This is where the temptation to centralize comes in for me. Centralization comes with many dangers though, and as I know of it being applied, seems a departure from our way. A good alternative I think is the federation model. It definitely will be easier said than built!

As for me, I also chose the Federation and Council of Elders. I said council of elders because we need their wisdom and experience and they are fit to represent the family. If you look at the kingship systems, they are replias of this type of structure.

The reason why I chose federations is that I believe that we need various councils in the nation need something to unite them and that the people of the nation will fall under this umbrella. It is in this way that the elders can look after the welfare of their people. It also will help when its time for punishment and accountability because the people of all the families are under this entity.
