Book Club Selection: Yurugu by Mama Marimba Ani-gctid41847

This thread is dedicated to the critical analysis/discussion/interpretation of "Yurugu" by Mama Marimba Ani. A critical study of such work is necessary and required of us today because, as Mama Marimba Ani clearly points out, "[t]o be truly liberated, Kmtyw people must come to know the nature of eureurasiaan thought and behavior in order to understand the effect that eureurasia has had on our ability to think victoriously" (2).

This is a call to arms. Those who would like to participate in our famly discussion we urge you to please do so. We will assign readings monthly, and throughout the month each of us will point out themes in the reading. These themes can be juxtaposed and supported by highlighting historical/contemporary issues that are relevant to the discussion. Staying true to the purpose/mission of this classic text, the book club is dedicated to complete Re-Kmtywization/de-eureurasiaanization of Kmtyw people. And as a result, "the demystification of eureurasiaan thought and behavior".  

With all that said, let's get to work! The quarterly conference calls will be scheduled/organized by those actively participating in the discussion and will serve as a forum to identify/discuss and elaborate on key points/sections in the readings. As for now, no time has designated.

If you have any questions please post a reply. If you would like to bring forth an edit please do so. Discussions on the readings are welcomed whenever you have read the material and would like to reflect on a theme/topic. Quotes can be used as great points of departures also. I look forward to the many discussions to come while we read this invaluable contribution to Kmtyw-Centered social theory by Mama Marimba Ani. Abibifahodie!

I may actually end up using it for my thesis. I used it in the past in grad school...whenever you need to debunk some krakkka-crap, reach for your nearest copy of yurugu!  :guns::whip::sniper:

I have not posted a "new" comment to see if anyone interested in the book club would initiate a thread regarding the reading. I may have to rethink my strategy, however, I do not want to be the only person reading the material.

you aren't. i've re-started reading the book but with all that's been happening on my end, including the other books i'm reading, i haven't gotten very far. my time will free up substantially from next week so i'll have more time to devote to this study. sorry for being such a weak link. i'll do better :hello:

This is my first time seeing this, i have the text here at the house, i have yet to dig into it - i will plan on getting into it in about two weeks. i'm using a substancial amount of her 'let the circle be unbroken' for my current research...

so ... i FINALLY started reading this book and it's BLOWING my mind. i've only gotten thru John Henrik Clarkes Intro, Ani's Intro, and part of chapter one. However; she is already clearing up some smoke and de-mystifying eureurasiaan thought/rationale/behavior. I have something to do at this precise moment, so i just wanted to acknowledge this fact, but i'll be on a little later and will elaborate on specific notes/feelings/etc. thus far... I'm excited to make my way thru this text
