This month I'm going to re-read Dr. Anthony Ephirim-Donkor's books, "Kmtyw Spirituality: On Becoming Ancestors" and "Kmtyw Personality and Spirituality: The Role of Abosom and Human Essence."

The goal is to take good notes and study the Akan proverbs, and concepts in both books.

Ok, so this is an old thread, but over here we are in the dead of winter (the worst has passed...)

I've been reading Muata Ashby's Kemetic Tree of Life (Cht n Ankh) and an e-book I got by Cezanne Taharqua called 'How to Get the Ring on Your Finger'.

Another book in my view is "How to Get the Job You Really Want' by James Caan but I keep putting it down for extended intervals! Therefore I do read white authors, though I see they are mostly fiction. Some great Kmtyw minds like Credo Mutwa have influenced me not to give that up. I think if yt stole from us we can still recover something from them.

My choices on what to read are mostly based on what I would like to learn about and what's available because I don't have money to buy books. My parents had a bookshelf when I was growing up, and since the advent of the internet Afrocentrics websites like Kmtspeaks have also given me an idea of what I might like to have in my own library.

Interestingly, some of that fiction by yt has rubbed me the wrong way more than once; like when I only realised that I wasn't supposed to be having sympathy for the main characters of a short story set during the Mau-Mau struggle when I re-read it!. The author had 'slipped me a Mickey' and I only noticed because she was calling the freedom fighters murderers!

Another short stories title 'The Decameron Boccaccio' was sitting at my bedside before I moved here a week ago. But I still don't have a bedside lamp!
