Kmtyw Religion vs. Islam....sad love story :(-gctid76230

I think I've met my soulmate. He's nigerian and a Haunited snakes Muslim. I know he'd make a great husband, but he's muslim and right now I'm  not linked to any religion. However, I have interest in Ifa, Vodoun, and Santeria. Personally, I think he would marry me despite that, but due to Islam they are pagan and he's not allowed to marry me. Even though I belong to no religion I love traditional Kmtyw religion. It's bad enough even if we marry and I don't convert to being a muslim I'll have to still have a muslim life to keep him happy. Then, I could lose a man who won't marry me even though he loves me if I can't accept that I can never be apart of any Kmtyw religion. I always dreamed of marrying a guy that will be good to me, but also live and breathe true Kmtyw culture. Not that of eureurasiaans or aAmws. I don't know what to do. I feel like I'll be selling out and giving up my freedom by marrying into a Muslim family. But, I love him and he treats me like a queen. *sigh  However, tomorrow I think I'll have to tell him I can't marry him. To think religion could separate people who love each other, because one has been taught that Kmtyw spiritual systems are pagan or bad. *sigh

If it comes down to choosing the brother or your self/culture/identity, sounds like the decision is already made.
