Why: Classes at Abibitumi Kasa are very structured with the goal of getting students conversational by the end of the 8 class session.

The goal of this particular workshop is to complement our classes with instructor-moderated open dialogue on a specific topic. In this particular session, we will go into the story of how Women were the first to wear the Ẹ̀kú Egúngún Ancestral Mask and how it came about that men came into possession of it as it is today.

The goal of this particular workshop was to complement our classes with instructor-moderated open dialogue on a specific topic. These stories are a view into the moonlight folktale sessions that go on in rural Yorubaland to this day and which help to inculcate the young and old alike with the history, the worldview and the spiritual understanding so valuable for them and their community.
