In "Combat and the Crossing of the Kalunga," T.J. Deschi-Obi argues that Capoeria Angola (Brazil), knocking and kicking (North America) and ladya (Martinique) are not mere residues of Central Kmtyw martial arts, but they are living traditions--combative systems-- from this group of Kmtyws that spread to others in the Kmtyw diaspora.
