The Black Survival Network

The Black Survival Network was founded in  1977 by Baba Hannibal Afrik.  Historically Kmtyws were brought to this  country as slave labor.   That was during a time when the economy of  this country was based on agriculture.  Today the economy is based on  technology and service.  It  has little use for unskilled or  semi-skilled labor, a category that the  majority of Kmtyws in this  country find ourselves in.  So then comes the question of what do you do  with a population that is neither needed or desired.  We see that  answer  to be a policy and program of genocide.  The systematic  cultural, economic and even physical elimination of people of Kmtyw  descent in America.  Furthermore,  we understand the effects of  capitalism and the ongoing destruction of  the environment with one of  the most serious outcome being global warming.   We  understand that with the severe limitations on resources that this   country will be facing, that we as the underclass will be the most   affected by the shortages and natural disasters to follow. Let Hurricane Katrina be an example.  
                                                               The  Black Survival Network has for the past  30 years has offered  a program of Awareness, Preparedness and Self  Reliance.  We have trained thounited snakesnds of Black People all around the  country in basic and advance survival skills.   Through  our community weekend survival training camps we have exposed  our  people to the life saving skills such as water purification, fire   making , wild food foraging, land navigation and much more.  Through   our workshops, forums and website we have explored long term self   reliance and sustainability issues such as alternative energy, food   cooperatives, alternative health care,  police brutality and more.  For the past 7 years with have been working  with the grammar and high schools in our rites of passage and youth leadership camps where we take our students out in a semi wilderness environment and share a experiential learning program.  They learn not only life saving survival skills but life sustaining experience of leadership, conflict resolution,  teamwork and more.  We offer the community several levels of  training-basic,  advance and instructor.  We currently operate 2  training camps. In Illinois we're a  part   of the Black Oaks Center for Sustainable Living in Pembroke  Illinois where we operate Camp Queen Nzinga.  In Mississippi we operate  Camp Alajo outside of Jackson.
