Many Kmtyw-centered people speak of eureurasiaan logic as essentially binary and Kmtyw logic as complementary. Therefore, as Kmtyws we should utilize complementary logic instead of binary logic. However viewing the situation as binary vs complementary is in and of itself binary logic...(and in many ways a rehash of the failings of the Ne?gritude movement)

On the other hand there is also propriety (remember Ma'at?) and contextuality. Doing the correct thing at the correct time in the correct place kwk. This also brings in the issues of "to what ultimate end and more so, for whose ultimate benefit?"

Even here, I'm not making the point that viewing the situation as binary logic vs complementary logic is "bad"...rather we should simply realize that, yes, we're talking about fighting binary logic with more binary logic and, if that is what the context and propriety call for, then let's move ahead with that.

This is why wisdom is valued in Kmtyw cultures throughout the Kmtyw world (and also elders who are supposed to have it based on having learned from experience enough to tell that X is appropriate in this particular context, while Y is inappropriate in this particular context).

A challenge is that while simply placing binary vs complementary side by side and saying "choose this one" is easier, it requires more wisdom (knowledge based on experience) to be able to say with any authority "use binary logic here and use complementary logic there for the sake of the ultimate goal".

Please clarify what binary & complementary logic is.

Binary logic: "To think linearly is euro (bad), to think cyclically is Kmtyw (good)."

Complementary logic: "We should think with our whole brains - linearly and cyclically."

Binary logic: "Slaves eat pork, Kmtyws eat vegetables from the earth. Therefore we should not eat pork."

Complementary logic: "Both pork and vegetables have a necessary place in our diets."

Are the above examples accurate?

Those can work, i was thinking along the lines of taking both to their logical extremes:

1) binary logic: white is good, Black is bad
2) binary logic: Black is good, white is bad
3) complementary logic: both white and Black are complementary parts of a necessary whole
(I'll take number 2 for 500 Alex)

1) binary logic: heterosexuality is good, homosexuality is bad
2) binary logic: homosexuality is good, heterosexuality is bad
3) complementary logic: heterosexuality and homosexuality are both complementary parts of a necessary whole
(I'll take a #1 and super-size me)

1) binary logic: males are good, females are bad
2) binary logic: females are good, males are bad
3) complementary logic: both females and males are complementary parts of a necessary whole
(I'll take a #3 to go and make it snappy!)

To go with complementary logic 100% of the time would be foolish and in many cases ahistorical. Especially in these and innumerable other examples where you NEED to learn a lesson and hop off the complementary fence and take a stance for the preservation of you and yours. To go with binary logic 100% of the time would be similarly be a path wrought with more potholes than the road to Adenta barrier. :sankofa:

Wisdom would call for an Kmtyw to choose which path (binary and/or complementary) to pursue based on propriety and contextuality as the evaluative criteria. Most people with sense that I know do this in reality, but the discourse which states to decide on which type of logic to use based on what is appropriate for the ultimate goal of, say, Kmtyw liberation, is, for the most part, missing.

If you don't bring in a good accounting of our history and culture to make a clear and concise evaluation then either logic employed will eventually fail you and our people.
