Start with greetings. Use them on everybody. Then you can start throwing grammar in and around those greetings. For instance I learned the word Yɛbɛhyia before realizing hyia is the infinitive verb to meet. What verbs you know start playing with them and using them.

Yɛbɛkasa Kweurasiada. (We will speak Sunday)

Is there a concept of weekend with the Akan? That said I'm sure a term can be conceived if this is so. Calling @Obadele Kambon.
