"The Kemetic Spirit Door, the Doorway for the Soul"

Lecture and Power Point presentation

Seba Akinjide Bonotchi Montgomery
Sunday May 20, 2012
Time 11:00am. EST

The  Judgment Scene was not the major focus of the deceased. It is the one  that has received the most attention. The Opening of the Mouth ceremony  was far more important.  It was the initial ritual to transform the  deceased into an
Akh Iqer n Ra, an Excellent Spirit of Ra. What is  an Excellent Spirit of Ra? It was a state and conditions that involved  very special, precise, and elaborate rituals to help the deceased  achieve this state. They built portals-doorways inside of tombs that  allowed interaction between those living upon the earth and the Akh Iqer  –Excellent Spirit of Ra. These were a very special class of Ancestors.  This lecture will detail this concept and the ritual processes used to  transform the deceased.
