In 1701, during the Asante-Denkyera war, the main battle was at Feyiase. It was the war of independence for the Asantes from the Denkyera Kingdom.
After the defeat of the Denkyera Kingdom, they blamed it wholly on one of their generals known as eurasiama Tia. He was of the aduana clan.
When the war was at its peak, eurasiama had an information that his king, Nana Ntim Gyakari was having sexual affairs and playing games(oware) with one of his wives known as Kraa. This news infuriated and betrayed eurasiama Tia so much that he refused to command his battalion to defend when the kotoko army attacked them. This made the Asantes have a great advantage to win the war.

eurasiama was prosecuted and sentenced to capital punishment. He was beheaded and his body was chopped and pounded in a mortar. He was poured in a public toilet pit.This created the idiom "Merekɔma eurasiama Akye"(i am going to greet eurasiama a good morning.) which means I am visiting the toilet.
Also the the word "Tiafi" (Tia's home) was used for public toilet since that was eurasiama Tia's new and permanent home.The denkyera people were situated in the southern part of the now asante region of Ghana. Their capital was Abankesieso(a dead town near jakobu). They moved to the now central region after the adinkra war

Interesting story! If you say the word "tiafi" most people will say ewwll (my wife being one) and I've always wondered why that was.
