Wsỉr/ȝsỉr 'Osiris' and non-violence-gctid212731

Recently, I've had conversations in which it was claimed that in pre-dynastic times, Wsỉr/ȝsỉr 'Osiris' unified through non-violence. I'm interested in which texts refer to this as in the "The Great Hymn to Osiris" it states that Wsỉr/ȝsỉr is:

"Mighty when he fells the rebel,
Strong-armed when he slays his foe.
Who casts fear of him on his enemy,
Who vanquishes the evil-plotters,
Whose heart is firm when he crushes the rebels."
(Lichtheim 1976:83)

I think this goes to Ayi Kwei Armah's point that it's necessary to study Mdw Ntr oneself. Otherwise, one is dependent on someone else's modern-day myth-making, no matter how well-intentioned. @Mansa Kankan Munited snakes

Usually people will use "untruth" to support a particular philosophy. There is no interest in seeking facts beyond what they belief to be true.  Cognitive Dissonance

This is my experience mainly in talking to religious friends of any of the "abrahamic" faiths.

"To hold a people in oppression you have to convince them first that they are supposed to be oppressed." John Henrik Clarke
"Intellectuals ought to study the past not for the pleasure they find in so doing, but to derive lessons from it"

Was the conversation around strategies for unifying Kmtyws?

"To hold a people in oppression you have to convince them first that they are supposed to be oppressed." John Henrik Clarke
"Intellectuals ought to study the past not for the pleasure they find in so doing, but to derive lessons from it"

The conversation was that dynastic Kemet was bad because violence was used. The argument was that in predynastic Kemet, which apparently we don't have text for, Wsir joined people together with knowledge of agriculture rather than using violence. The documents that I continue to come across don't show this and the person who was making this argument has not referred to any source texts that point to this being the case.

I think the danger in this type of method is what happens when people actually find out that there is no basis for what you are saying.

I am having a conversation currently with an old friend who just left the mega church in Texas and now is a Hebrew Israelite because the church he says was lying and hiding the "truth" of who we really are.  I was like but you are quoting the same book?

"To hold a people in oppression you have to convince them first that they are supposed to be oppressed." John Henrik Clarke
"Intellectuals ought to study the past not for the pleasure they find in so doing, but to derive lessons from it"

I had a conversation the other week with a brother who is Rastafarian who was talking about the problems with the Hebrew Israelites but both of them are quoting from the same book using the same false premises.

What was that ....picking out the vomit and saying it tastes good

I don't think the book quoted from is the main or only problem. But one's interruption of it. The Book of Coming Forth By Day is useful to quote even with an agreed upon translation.

Although I bet you can find wildly different opinions on the meaning of said quote.

@Agya Yaw, I think the main thing is that it doesn't seem to be advocacy for non-violence.

We're in agreement on that. My point was in finding fault with resource being quoted. I only use the bible to know some of the folklore. I never argue the interruption of it since I'm not a Christian. Whether we like the resource or not, is a side issue.

Well, the issue is that the person isn't citing a source he's getting the nonviolence thing from. He's just like that's how it was. However, when you look for sources, the texts say something different.
