Finished reading. I think I have my question answered.   But let me pose it here anyway.  I was curious about the relationship or perspective of the Kikuyu person when relating themselves to the Dikenga model.  If I understand correctly the model shows the sun moving through the different phases as it goes around or is it that at the center and looking the horizon seeing the sun as it is appearing to traverse but it is not.  And then if that is the case how do we understand the stories in that same understanding?  As the person reading the story and as we are listening from our perspective it is going through the stages?  

I am trying to see where the sun and human stages have the same perspective of being observed.   I can understand the comparison in terms of the stages themselves.

Kikôngo speaking person. Good question. The sun is still the sun but then the human being is also a living sun. So the person is at the same time in the center and like the sun that goes around the center. So you have a sun circumnavigating a sun. That's why I said the model is both anthropocentric and heliocentric at the same time. In terms of the story you could also see it from both perspectives as you experience the story traverse or you move with the story as it moves from one stage to another. Does that answer the question?

Ahhh thanks for the correction and explanation.

So while it does represent a person as a representation as the sun in the center in terms of the phases, it's also representing the sun as seen from the horizon and out of site in the sky.
