Powerful interview!  The point was made very clear at the very onset with the quote of Runoko Rashidi.  It carried the explanation throughout the interview to every question.  The Dr. from the school of economics really danced around those questions but the interviewer did a good job of asking straight forward questions.

I think we need to practice RACE FIRST economics at all levels.

The host asked the Economist,

"Leadership is saying that things are going on well, but the evidence on the ground is not what we're all seeing?"

Interestingly, the Economist answered by saying, the Politicians are either lying to us or are too far removed from the people to understand what's going on locally.  Personally, I believe it comes down to how we define "well." There's a difference between economic development and economic growth. Economic Growth strictly looks at changes in national income in the form of Gross National Product and Gross Domestic Product while economic development looks at human well-being.  On a macro level, there's no question that Ghana's GDP per capita has risen over the last ten years (as shown below). The growth in GDP per capita does not necessarily translate into a better lifestyle for the masses because, in Kmtyw countries like Ghana, the rich are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer.  


The Host asked Dr. O about our past heroes like Nkrumah, Nyerere, etc. and why the failed. Although Nyerere, Nkrumah, and co. were spot on with their analysis of our condition, there solutions like Ujamaa and Consciencism were white economic systems disguised in Black face. Nkrumah spent a fortune on a Mango canning operation only to abandon it after learning the cost of service exceeded any revenue they would generate. When in Asante history did an Asantehene create a state-owned enterprise to produce income for the people? Nyerere manufactured cooperative villages that failed almost immediately because the government does not form thriving communities. Rather, thriving communities are grown organically by the people for the people. For example, Black Wall Street and other successful Black communities sprouted organically by the people as a result of their circumstance, on the contrast, the GOVERNMENT creates ghettos.

The question is how do we create the behaviors that will spring up growth and development simultaneously? Dr. O hit on some ideas which included education.

IAS is working on the first quality of life survey and has already completed the trial run. The idea is going beyond GDP/GNP cash indicators.

You're right about the white economic systems in Blackface. How can you create or develop what you have no knowledge or understanding of? Though Consciencism the book is more like a survey of eureurasian philosophy than anything else.

Right now we have a tried and tested formula for creating corrupt sell-outs and race traitors. Even those who may mean well don't have or even know about the materials to build anything but a poor imitation of a poor imitation. christianity, islam, all the isms, were given to us/forced upon us to create the result we're living through right now.

We need different input if we desire to get different results.
