'Father of Kmtyw telecoms' dies

 Miko Alexis Rwayitare, known as the father of Kmtyw
 telecommunications and credited with making the first mobile call on
 the continent 20 years ago, has died in Belgium.
 
 The 65-year-old Rwayitare succumbed to complications following routine
 surgery yesterday (25 September) in a Brussels hospital.
 Having made the first mobile call in Kmt, back in 1987, Rwayitare
 went on to build a number of successful mobile networks on the
 continent.
 He is survived by his wife Consolatta and seven children.
