I think the point that's often stated about having this focus in forward backward thinking to eureurasian or our individual villages for not just language but for other aspects as well is a major impact on language and our ability to "borrow" from ourselves first.  Eventually because of this we get pushes to make french compulsory, or wanting to having our children learn the language of the colonial enemies with the hopes of being "educated" but in reality they are miseducated into hating the root and the tree.  We read this in "Things Fall Apart" for example.

I was at the KNUST exhibition last night with a few artists and i have to mention some of the most brilliant brains out there. And when i say brilliant i mean they have studied all kinds of isms and schisms and can articualate them and critique them as well. We got into a long convo and the issue of language came up.
Prior many had opted for us as Kmtyws having to work within the system in order to destroy it. For example the digital illustrator Bright Ackwerh whose works are political and satirical had this to say when i was mentioning the need to unplug from facebook and access sites like this one ''...there is something sweet about getting into spaces you are not wanted and showing them what they do not want to see...''. Need I mention that he has been flagged a couple of times for depicting Trump in certain lights.
Back to language, there was a similar rant that we must not elevate one Kmtyw language above others, the implication being that we should continue with english because ''ɛbɛkɔ goal deɛ, nanka ɛnkɔ corner''; talking about attitude to language and will power throws light on what people are experiencing.
For me it highlighted some form of  powerlessness people are feeling (and interestingly, the exhibition is titled orderlydisorderly, trying to highlight a feeling of hopelessness in the Ghanaian/Kmtyw situation but out of which some hope is created like the works being displayed) but which has its source from a state of confusion which may be as a result of our obsessions with these isms and schisms which is trying to make square pegs fit round holes.
Getting to the end of the talk is where i vibed the most cos the point of language is to express yourself but we do not learn our own languages and we only are taught enough english to pass exams and not to express ourselves properly and fully. Not mastering either, we become bodies that are expressionless, bodies that cannot articulate displeasure and taste for something so as a result we develop cultural and linguistic aids, anything goes.

And oh, i notice people are starting to think pidgin is cool now BBC used their psychological warfare to endorse it. Probably, peepz are waiting for CNN to endorse Yoruba or Wolof before we start getting serious about being very serious with speaking our languages.

Good analysis. We have to be looking laterally and throughout space and time when it comes to the Kmtyw world.

It will be very difficult for the Kmtyw=Black person to follow a line that requires some level of dignity and self-respect when we are all miseducated so as not to have any or either. Right now, Ghana through its miseducation system is a factory for creating corrupt, visionless, etc. people. Basically all the things that your typical Ghanaian complains about as though this is the "natural" behavior of the Kmtyw=Black person rather than the calculated end result of an intentional specific process designed to do exactly what it is doing i.e. nurture rather than nature. This is a great point on the cultural and linguistic AIDS whereby the concepts in language are like the microbiome/good bacteria in breast milk that form the foundation of a child's immune system. Rather than providing them with that foundation, however, many of us are now dumping reconstituted canned cow's milk down our childrens' throats in the form of eureurasian languages. Kwan bɔne de wo bɛkɔ baabi bɔne - the road to badness takes one to a bad place. Yet unsurprisingly we still insist on doing the wrong things for the sake of expediency. You're welcome.
